From November 15th to 18th, 2018
Alcazabilla Street
Hanbok is the Korean dress that embodies the inherent beauty that shows its elegance and style and was created by the abundance of material and curved features. It has been transmitted along with the lives of Koreans for 5,000 years.
Koreans learned to use various fabrics, such as sambe (hemp), mosi (ramie), cotton and silk to make a range of garments that were not only attractive, but also provided effective protection during the harshest winters and most warm summers. They made warm winter clothes using the technique of soft cotton filling between two layers of material, silk or cotton fabric and sewing them with fine seams. Fresh summer clothes were produced with hemp and ramie.
These garments tend to have elegant lines and shapes that create the serene aura characteristic of traditional Korean clothes that we know as hanbok.
