 BASES:

  1. Objetivo: producción de un spot/teaser que será difundido como campaña promocional del 28 Fancine – Festival de cine fantástico de la Universidad de Málaga.
  2. Participantes: podrán optar a este premio todos los creadores españoles o extranjeros que así lo deseen, presentando un máximo de una obra. Ha de ser de creación propia, original e inédita y no haber ganado ningún concurso anteriormente. A efectos de inscripción, solo se tendrán en cuenta los datos de un único creador por obra.
  3. Criterios de valoración:
  • Que se asocie el género fantástico o de terror con el tema principal de la 28 edición de Fancine que lleva por título Asia en las venas. Esta temática abarca al cine asiático de género fantástico, ciencia ficción, terror, aventuras, thriller, misterio, acción, animación, así como otros géneros afines.
  • Que el spot incluya en cualquier formato tanto el logotipo de Fancine como la figura del Maneki-neko en la que se inspira.
  • Que el spot tenga en cuenta el carácter universitario del festival.
  1. Requisitos técnicos:
  • Duración: no superior a 1 minuto.
  • La obra deberá contener las cortinillas del festival respetándose tanto su duración como sus medidas. Las cortinillas se encuentran descargables AQUÍ
  • En caso de existir diálogos, el video deberá contar con subtítulos:
  • Si la versión original es en español deberá incluir subtítulos en inglés
  • Si la versión original es en cualquier otro idioma deberá incluir subtítulos en español.
  1. Premio: la obra ganadora recibirá un único premio de 3000€. El premio estará sujeto a la retención de IRPF conforme establece la legislación vigente. El premio podrá declararse desierto, y en ningún caso será compartido por dos o más obras ganadoras.
  2. Inscripción: la inscripción se llevará a cabo exclusivamente a través del formulario disponible AQUÍ donde se incluirá un enlace descargable del video presentado en formato MP4, MOV, MKV o AVI codificado en H.264. La organización recomienda el uso de plataformas gratuitas como Wetransfer, Drive o Myairbridge.
  3. Plazos: Desde el 1 de marzo hasta el 1 de julio de 2018 estará abierto el plazo de participación en el concurso. La organización irá subiendo los vídeos preseleccionados a las redes sociales de Fancine – Festival de Cine Fantástico Universidad de Málaga, teniéndose en cuenta los “me gusta” obtenidos, aunque no sea condición indispensable para resultar ganador.
  4. Exclusiones: quedarán excluidas todas las solicitudes que no cumplan íntegramente los requisitos expuestos en las presentes bases, las que no estén debidamente cumplimentadas, su presentación no se realice a través del único canal establecido al efecto o se entreguen fuera del plazo marcado. La utilización de obras de terceros dará lugar a su descalificación inmediata, incluyendo la banda sonora de la misma.
  5. Selección: la obra final será seleccionada por un comité compuesto por personas de reconocido prestigio y del que formará parte necesariamente al menos un técnico del Servicio de Cultura de la Universidad de Málaga. Sus decisiones son soberanas y su fallo será inapelable.
  6. Derechos de explotación: la Universidad de Málaga se reserva todos los derechos de explotación y uso de la obra premiada, así como su manipulación para adecuarla a los diferentes soportes de proyección. No se podrán usar audios o imágenes que no hayan sido grabados o creados por los autores ni música no autorizada o que no cuente con la cesión de derechos pertinente. El participante responderá de la utilización de obras o imágenes no consentidas que vulneren los derechos de propiedad intelectual, los derechos de imagen o cualquier otro derecho de terceros, quedando la Universidad de Málaga indemne a cualquier reclamación en este respecto.
  7. Formato final: una vez seleccionada la obra ganadora, su autor entregará el archivo de video final en formato .mov o .mp4 de tamaño mínimo de 1080p.
  8. Organización: no se mantendrá correspondencia con los autores de las obras presentadas más allá de lo derivado de las propias tareas de gestión administrativa de las solicitudes. En ningún caso negociará ni discutirá con los autores los extremos contemplados en estas bases, y se reserva el derecho de tomar iniciativas no reguladas en las mismas, siempre que considere que puedan contribuir a un mayor éxito del concurso o a una mejora en la gestión.
  9. Aceptación de las bases: la participación en este concurso implica la total aceptación de las bases y la sujeción a la normativa vigente sobre impuestos.

 

 

 

REGULATIONS

1. Goal: production of a spot/teaser that will be promoted as advertising campaign of the 28th edition of Fancine – Fantastic Film Festival of the University of Malaga.
2. Participants: artists from all over the world can apply for this contest, submitting a maximum of one film. The work must be an original and unpublished creation and must not have won any contest before. For the purposes of registration, only the data of a single creator per work is taken into account.
3. Assessment criteria
– To be able to combine the fantastic genre with the main theme of the 28th edition of the festival, entitled ‘Asia through our veins’. This topic includes Asian film production of the fantastic genre under all its variants (fantasy, science fiction, horror, adventure, thriller, mystery, action, animation) as well as other similar genres.- It will be given positive value if the spot includes in any format both the logo of Fancine and the figure of Maneki-neko, in which it is inspired.- It will be appreciated that the spot takes into account the university character of the festival.
4. Technical requirements:

– Length: no more than 1 minute.

– The work must include the intro of the festival, with the appropriate length and size. The intro can be downloaded HERE

– If there are dialogues, the video must have the following subtitles:- If the original version is in Spanish, the spot must include English subtitles- If the original version is in a different language from Spanish it must be subtitled in Spanish instead of having them in English.
5. Prize: The winner will receive a prize of 3000€. The award will be subject to income tax withheld under current legislation. The prize may be declared void, and in no case will be shared by two or more works.
6. Registration: Registration will take place exclusively via the submission form available HERE including a direct download link to the video. The file must be MP4, MOV, MKV or AVI format coded on H.264. The organization recommends free platforms like Wetransfer, Drive or Myairbridge.
7. Deadline: Registration will be opened from March 1st until July 1st, 2018. The organisation will upload the videos to the social networks of Fancine – Fantastic Film Festival University of Malaga, taking into account the number of “likes” obtained, although it will not be an indispensable condition to be the winner.
8. Exclusions: It will be excluded all those applications which do not fully comply with the requirements set in these rules, which are not properly completed, those whose presentation is not made through the single channel established for that purpose, or if the applications are delivered after the deadline. The use of third-party works will result in immediate disqualification, including the soundtrack.
9. Selection: The winner will be selected by a committee composed of members of the cultural, audiovisual and/or academic fields from the UMA, necessarily including at least one technician from the Culture Service of the University. Its decisions are sovereign and its verdict is final and not open to appeal.
10. Exploitation rights: The University of Malaga reserves all rights of exploitation and use of the winning spot as well as its manipulation to accommodate it to the different screening formats.
It is not allowed to use audios nor images that have not been recorded or created by the authors nor unauthorised music or music which has not the property of the relevant rights. The participant will take responsibility for the use of works or images with no consent that violates intellectual property rights, image rights, or any other right of third parties, leaving the University of Malaga unharmed from any claims in this regard.
11. Final Format: once selected the winning work, the author will deliver the final video file in .mov or .mp4 format with a minimum size of 1080p.
12. Organisation: no correspondence will be maintained with the authors of the works presented beyond the tasks arising from the administrative management of applications. Under no circumstances, the administration will negotiate or discuss with the authors the ends referred to in these rules, and reserve the right to take initiatives not regulated in the same, whenever it considers that can contribute to the greater success of the contest or to an improvement in management.
13. Acceptance of rules: participation in this competition implies full acceptance of the rules and regulations in force subject to taxes.
14. Translation: the Spanish text of these regulations will be the only valid version in case of discrepancies regarding the meaning of any of the above regulations.
